The Defense Accounting and Finance Service is warning military members, retirees, and federal civilians about potential email scams from posers seeking access into their pay accounts.
If you receive any email supposedly from DFAS that you think might be an attempt to defraud you, please call the DFAS customer service number at 1-888-332-7411. The DFAS will verify whether or not they are truly attempting to contact you regarding any pay-related issue.

OFFICIAL DFAS POLICY ON EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
DFAS will never send you unsolicited email messages requesting your myPay login ID and password or any other personal or financial information. We also will not send you unsolicited email messages with attachments. Never reveal your myPay login credentials in response to an email, no matter who appears to have sent it. And if you receive an e-mail message that appears suspicious, do not click on any links or open attachments.
